BDX01: Introduction
=======================
Thank you for downloading the BDX Mega Pack for Jam With the Band (E) and Daigasso! Band Brothers
DX (J). Within this huge pack of folders, you will find BDX files for use in these games. In the off chance
that you don't know what BDX files are, well, to put it simply, they're song files. That's right, each of
these 32KB files is a song for Jam With the Band/Daigasso! Band Brothers DX. Granted, they're midi, so
the small file size is to be expected.

To utilize these files, you will need a Nintendo DS Flash Cart running a compatible firmware, as well as
the save file editor BDX Tool. You can also use the program DX Degausser if you are playing Daigasso!
Band Brothers DX, but currently it is incompatible with Jam With the Band, but BDX Tool will work. At
present, only a few flash carts are able to run Jam With the Band, but hopefully in the future these
issues will be fixed with firmware updates for most flash carts. Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, however,
should run fine on any flash cart with their most recent firmware. Once you've got it running, it's very
simple to jump right in and start adding songs to a Jam With the Band/Daigasso! Band Brothers DX
save file!

This also means that people without flash carts - those who only have a physical copy cannot use
these BDX files, but they will be able to utilize the game's download service, which flash cart users will
not be able to use. Thus, the game is best experienced with both a physical and a dumped copy of the
game, so please support Nintendo's release of the game if it is available in your region, but don't be
afraid to make use of this extensive list of music, most of it unable to be accessed by players with
only a physical copy of the game.

As for the pack itself, it was compiled by me (FFandMMfan) from various sources through hours and
hours of searching and renaming. I take no credit for the creation of any of these BDX files (as of the
time this is being written, I haven't made a single one) nor do I take credit for the original distribution of
these files. The pack is far from perfect, and there are many, many BDX files available that I haven't
acquired, as well as many duplicates and quite possibly a few naming errors within the pack itself, but
I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor.

=======================
BDX02: Getting Started
=======================
[NOTE: This section is outdated and has been replaced by the Getting Started.txt file, so read that
if you're just getting started. This will be removed and everything will be fixed up nicely in version 1.4]

The first and foremost thing you need in order to utilize these BDX files is a Nintendo DS Flash Cart.
Some flash carts have had their firmware updated to run Jam With the Band, but some still require a fix,
so if your cart cannot run Jam With the Band, you can either check to see if there is a new firmware
update, wait for a firmware update, or play Daigasso! Band Brothers DX in the meantime.

The next thing you'll need is either BDX Tool (compatible with JWTB and DBBDX) or DX Degausser (not
compatible with JWTB).

BDX Tool is created by Yasu, a Japanese user who requires BDX Tool to be downloaded from his
website and unlocked with a key that the website will provide. BDX Tool is much easier to use than
DX Degausser, is more stable, and currently the only option for users of Jam With the Band. However,
it does have it's downsides. You can only load BDX files into the FIRST 50 slots of BDX Tool if you are
using Jam With the Band (any songs in other slots will not be displayed) and 100 slots if you are playing
DBBDX. DX Degausser can load songs into 200 slots, but again, only if you are playing DBBDX.

How to download BDX Tool:
Step 1: http://home.usay.jp/pc/etc/nds/
Step 2: Ctrl+F bdxtool(08/07/31 24:00)
Step 3: Click the underlined bdxtool
Step 4: Save and extract the contents of the folder
Step 5: Open BDX Tool, then copy the text shown
Step 6: Paste the text into the empty box below where you clicked on the website and click GET
Step 7: Save the key file in the same folder as BDX Tool

How to use BDX Tool:
Step 1. Open a Daigasso! Band Brothers DX (J) or Jam With the Band (E) save file from the file menu.
Step 2: Click on an empty slot and click Import
Step 3: Select a BDX file
Step 4: Repeat untill you have imported all the BDX files you want (you can import more than 1 at a time)
Step 5: Remember that JWTB can only read songs inserted into the first 50 slots!
Step 6: Save the save file and quit.
Step 7: Make sure your save has the same name as your NDS file, copy it to your card and play!

How to download DX Degausser:
Step 1: http://dbbdx.wikispaces.com/Degausser
Step 2: Click on the download link
Step 3: ????
Step 4: PROFIT!!

How to use DX Degausser:
Step 1: Read the included text file
Step 2: ????
Step 3: PROFIT!!

(Note: The preview functions of BDX Tool and DX Degausser use your internal system midi player, so
the songs will sound much better in-game)

With these tools, as well as the BDX packs included, you're well on your way to enjoying Jam With
the Band/Daigasso! Band Brothers DX!

BDX03: Pack Info
=======================
In this section, you can read about just what is in each of these song packs. These packs were
compiled by me (FFandMMfan) and, as stated above, are not perfect, and as such, you should
read through this section to make finding the songs you want easier on yourself.

The packs in the top directory are packs which have their names displayed in-game in English/Romaji as
opposed to the Japanese many of them were originally created in. Some of these (mostly the ones in
the Game pack) were already translated for me, but the rest have gone through my save file and
personally edited into English characters by me. It took a lot of time to do, but I hope that it makes
it easier for you to find the songs you like. The packs in the Other Packs directory are largely still in
Japanese in-game, but are nevertheless more songs that you may be familiar with.

BDX03A: J-Pop
=======================
Contains J-Pop (which is not exclusively "Pop" but includes any genre of Japanese music) songs which
have been renamed to English. Anime songs can be found in the Translated Anime pack. If you find a
song from an Anime in this pack, let me know and I'll move it in the next version.

BDX03B: Anime
==========================
Contains songs from Anime which have been renamed to English. I've added the names of the Anime
that they're from to the file names for convenience, but it will only display the actual song name once you
load it into the game.

BDX03C: Game
=======================
Contains Video Game songs which have been renamed to English, or found in English in some cases
(many of them came from the Variety pack). You will also find songs from Visual Novels in this pack.

BDX03D: World
=======================
Western music, Classical music, and various other things that don't fit into the J-Pop or Game folders.

BDX03E: Nintendo 200
=======================
When Nintendo first launched Daigasso! Band Brothers DX in Japan, they uploaded 200 songs to Wi-Fi.
This is a pack of those songs, all of the titles renamed to English. Many songs that were previously in
the J-Pop pack have been moved here.

BDX03F: English Karaoke
=======================
Songs that users have translated all of the karaoke in Japanese songs into English, either as Romaji or
with proper English lyrics.

BDX03G: Pack-ins
=======================
The packs in this folder contain songs that were packed-in with Daigasso! Band Brothers, Daigasso!
Band Brothers Request Selection Cartridge (the expansion pack), Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, and
Jam With the Band. Naturally, all of their titles have been romanized.

BDX03G1: DBB
=======================
Contains all of the songs from the original Daigasso! Band Brothers (NOT DBBDX, which is the one
that JWTB is based on).

BDX03G2: DBB Expansion
=======================
Contains nearly all of the songs from the Daigasso! Band Brothers Request Selection Cartridge, a GBA
pack that added 31 more songs to DBB. The rest of the songs will be added when I have acquired them.

BDX03G3: DBBDX
=======================
Contains the 5 J-Pop songs packed in with DBBDX, as well as a classical Japanese song that was
also cut from JWTB.

BDX03G4: JWTB
=======================
Contains the songs packed in with Jam With the Band, not including the classical remixes that are
found in both DBBDX and JWTB. While many of you will be playing JWTB and thus not need these,
there will probably be someone out there who continues to play DBBDX and wants to have the JWTB
songs in their game. That's what this pack is for.

BDX03H: Other Packs
=======================
These packs largely contain Japanese-titled songs, or packs of random songs that I have no idea what
to do with. You will find many duplicates in here, but there are hundreds of songs found in here that are
not found in any other packs.

BDX03H1: 5673-5390
=======================
A collection of BDX files ripped from the BanBro Uploader by some GBAtemp user. The titles are all
just numbers, corresponding to the numbers on the BanBro Uploader, and not all of the songs within
this range are included (and some of them I translated and put in other packs), but this is just another
pack that you can go through and try to find songs.

BDX03H2: BeatMania Pack
=======================
I don't remember where I got this, but it's a collection of songs from the Beatmania games. Several of
the titles are in Japanese though. These are also NOT in the Game pack.

BDX03H3: Edited Versions
=======================
Contains a few songs that users edited for various reasons, usually to fix minor errors in the original rips.
The "Don't Say 'Lazy'" and "Venus to Jesus" edits were done by me, to eliminate parts in the melody
that were considerably more difficult than the rest of the song, to increase my own enjoyment of playing
the songs. The originals of these can be found in the Anime pack.

BDX03H4: English CAPS
=======================
Contains a small handful of songs that were displayed by default in ALL CAPS, with English titles. Most
(all?) of the songs in here can be found in other packs as well.

BDX03H5: French 1015 Pack
=======================
I like to call this one the "disaster" pack. A French GBAtemp user had posted this (along with several
smaller versions of this same pack) in the DBBDX thread. Somehow, someway, their method of
ripping BDX files had produced a mess of garbled song titles, with junk characters at the beginning of
some titles, characters cut off from the end of the titles, random Japanese characters remaining in
the titles, and some titles somehow bypassing the character limit! However, this is the largest single
pack we have, and even though it's a complete disaster to go through, there are several songs in here
not found in any other pack. You can try to find some songs in here... if you dare...

BDX03H6: ndsbbs 269
=======================
Each of the two ndsbbs packs contain some different songs. While the pack with 328 has more songs,
due to the way it was ripped, many titles with special characters (such as ~ and ?) were lost, and thus
the 269 pack has some songs that the 328 pack does not. This pack is in romanized Japanese, but
all songs will display in Japanese in-game.

BDX03H7: ndsbbs 328
=======================
See above.

BDX03H8: Random Songs
=======================
Anything I don't know what to do with, I throw in here. Any subfolders inside of here are likely small
packs that I also didn't know what to do with.

BDX03H9: Variety
=======================
A large pack with many Japanese titled songs, as well as a handful of English titled ones. Largely
comprised of video game songs (this being where I got most of the songs in the Game pack), but also
containing several J-Pop and World songs as well.

BDX05: FAQ
=======================

Q: Can you help me with this part of the game?
A: No, this is not a guide for playing the game.

Q: How do I know if the game is compatible with my flash cart?
A: Start the game and play through the tutorial and get to the title screen. Reset the game. If you can
skip the intro of the game, it works. You can now load this save into BDX Tool or DX Degausser. If you
can't skip the intro after reaching the title screen, try using a pre-existing save. Make sure you name the
save the same thing as your NDS file. If you can skip the intro, then use that save (meaning your card
can read/write to the save, but cannot create it's own save file of the game), if you can't, then sorry, but
your card is most likely not compatible with JWTB/DBBDX. Make sure your firmware is updated, and
if it still doesn't work, alert the support team of your flash cart that the game isn't working and wait
for a fix.

Q: Why can't I download any songs from Wi-Fi?
A: Because you're a dirty little pirate and Nintendo is wise to you! Seriously, this game has so much
copy protection both within the game and on Nintendo's side that it's unlikely that the Anti-Piracy
preventing flash carts from downloading songs will ever be cracked. But hey, that's what the BDX
files are for!

Q: Why is the volume on this BDX so low?
A: Songs converted from BBS files (songs used in the original DBB) have the tendency to have volume
issues. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to change the volume yourself.

Q: Why is this song title shortened?
A: Because of character limits. It has a rather strict character limit, so many songs just drop off and
have a ... at the end. Additionally, I've left out spaces in some titles to make them fit. Sorry, but it had
to be done.

Q: Why doesn't this song have the ? or other special character that's in the title?
A: Because BDX Tool fails to export songs with certain special characters in the title. Additionally,
Windows Explorer won't allow you to put certain characters in file names.

Q: Why did you write a Translation FAQ for the game on GameFAQs?
A: Because at one time, it seemed likely that it would never, ever come out in English.

Q: Can you speak Japanese?
A: No. None of the "Translations" in the FAQ are actual translations of the text, but rather explain what
that particular button does.

Q: Are there any songs that you did not include with the pack?
A: I have several packs of Japanese titled songs which are identical to (or smaller versions of) the
ndsbbs packs. Since those are in romaji, there was no reason to include them. Additionally, one song
in particular, Link (Fullmetal Alchemist Movie OP) was cut because it is somehow corrupted and will
occasionally continue to play infinitely even after the song is over. Additionally, the translated version of
Mega Man 7 Boss Theme was cut because it, like KH Dearly Beloved is corrupted somehow and will not
save if you try and edit the song, and unlike KH Dearly Beloved, which has Japanese still in the title, but
not at the beginning of the title, the Mega Man 7 Boss Theme is almost entirely Japanese. It can still be
found in the Variety Pack, though.

Q: Why didn't you translate EVERY song?
A: I AM ONLY HUMAN, WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!

Q: How much time did it take to translate all of those song titles?
A: Too long.

Q: Are you that guy that posted about this game on (insert forum here) like, every day for a month?
A: Yes.

Q: Why?
A: Because Nintendo didn't advertise this game at all.

Q: I have a question/comment, how can I contact you?
A: The easiest way would be to message me through the DBBDX Wiki, or on GBAtemp. My username
on both is Rubedo.

BDX06: Version History
=======================
Version 1.4 - 10/6/10
Total BDX Count: 3,496 (83 new songs added, 2 removed. See changelog for details)

Just some new BDX files this time around. I had intended to rewrite this file but
that never came to pass. The good news is that there's a lot of new DBBDX Wi-Fi
songs in this pack, but the bad news is that there's still no way to rip JWTB
Wi-Fi songs. Supposedly, the creator of Degausser was going to make a new version
that natively supports JWTB, but I haven't heard from him in months, so who
knows if that's ever going to happen. I'm a bit disappointed that, to date, just
over 500 people downloaded BDX Mega Pack Version 1.3, compared to the
over 700 that downloaded 1.2, so please, if you have any friends that like
rhythm games and have a DS flash cart, pass this on to them, and hopefully we
can gather more interest in this fantastic game.

Version 1.3 - 7/18/10
Total BDX Count: 3,415 (155 new songs in the top level packs and 309 other songs added thanks to
the French 706 pack evolving into the French 1015 pack. No duplicates were removed, and some new
duplicates may have been created thanks to the storm of new Pokemon songs that I couldn't be
bothered to check if we already had or not. Oh, and Konayuki was removed from the J-Pop pack
because it sucks. Get the better version from the DBBDX pack)
The most important addition to this new version of the pack is more DBBDX Wi-Fi songs that have
never previously been dumped, thanks to my good friend Impossible. If you want details on what he
provided us with, check his credits section in the Credits file.
Additionally, I added a Getting Started file with intent to split it from this file, but I wanted to get this
pack out to you guys ASAP so I'll fix all that stuff with version 1.4. And yes, with a little work, you CAN
use Degausser with JWTB now.

Version 1.2 - 5/31/10
Total BDX Count: 2,952 (174 new songs with many duplicates removed)
Finished renaming the songs in the Nintendo 200 pack, moved some stuff, removed some stuff, added
a bunch of new songs, pretty much rewrote the entire Readme, and added the credits file. If you find that
you have submitted something to me and I forgot to add your name into the credits file, please just let
me know and I'll add you.

Version 1.1 - 5/24/10
Total BDX Count: 2,938 (80 new songs with many duplicates removed)
Added many more BDX files, as well as the Changelog. Please check that for more info on what was
added in this, and future versions of the pack. Additionally, I deleted all of the duplicate Anime songs
that were in the Translated J-Pop pack, and removed all of the Original DBB songs (unless they were
completely different versions of the song) from the Translated J-Pop pack, all of which can now be
found in the Original DBB pack or the Translated Anime pack if it was from an Anime. Finally, I corrected
a few minor title typos, and moved a few songs around to proper places.

Version 1.0 - 5/13/10
Total BDX Count: 3,070 (including duplicates)
Initial version. JWTB isn't even out yet! I hope these files even work with JWTB...
